    • Mrs. Catherine Knapp, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away last Sunday, May 17 at St. Mary's hospital after a short illness at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 2 days. Mrs. Knapp, nee Catherine Krebs, was born at East Bristol, Feb. 15, 1856. Growing to young womanhood she was united in marriage Sept. 12, 1880 to Ephraim Knapp and they began housekeeping on a farm in the town of Bristol. Retiring from farm life in 1906 they moved to this village and resided here until death. Mr. Knapp died January 30, 1912. Three children were born to this union, two of whom are living. They are William Knapp of Sun Prairie, and Olive (Chas.) Nygaard of Chattum, MI. One daughter Adaline (W. F.) Miller passed away a few months ago, following fatal injuries received in an auto accident. Mrs. Knapp is also survived by two brothers, Jake and John Krebs of Albany, MN. The remains were brought from the hospital to the Jones and Tuschen Funeral Home for preparation for burial and funeral services were held at 9 :30 yesterday morning at Sacred Hearts Church, Rev. G. A. Haeusler officiating. Interment was in the family lot in Sacred Hearts Cemetery. The pallbearers were George Rueth, Otto Trapp, Frank Voelker, Edward Duscheck, Albert Holzan, and Frank Pfaff.

      Mrs. Knapp and her husband, Ephraim, retired from farming and moved into the village in 1909. Three gen-erations of the Knapp family lived in the home at 191 Jones St., Sun Prairie. In 1939, the Knapp home was inherited by her daughter, Mrs. Charles Nygaard.
