      SUN PRAIRIE - Agnes H. Weigen, age 105, died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at The Lighthouse, in Sun Prairie. She was born on Oct. 15, 1897, in the Town of Bristol, the daughter of Andrew and Helena Hovey.

      When she was a small child, her mother died and she was reared by her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Boyum, she lived there until her marriage. She was confirmed by the late Rev. J.A. Aasgaard in the Bristol Lutheran Church. She graduated form Sun Prairie High School in 1916 and attended college until the end of WWI, at which time she married Dr. James A. Weigen on June 29, 1919.

      She was a member of Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyeser, American Legion Auxillary Post #333 and was elected to be the first secretary of the post and was its last surviving charter member. She was a life member of The Order of The Eastern Star and served 2 terms as Worthy Matron, she was also a member of The Royal Neighbors of America and served many years as recorder, she was a member of The Sun Prairie Colonial Club Senior Center from its beginning.

      Survivors include a son, Thomas (Janice) Weigen of Sun Prairie; two daughters-in-law, Fern Weigen of Madison and Carroll Weigen of Sun Prairie; five grandsons, Jeffrey (Jody) Weigen of Poynette, Jay Weigen of Hayward, Todd Weigen of Sun Prairie, Timothy (Kendra) Weigen of Tomah and James Weigen of Sun Prairie; a granddaughter, Cynthia (Paul) Kohler of Appleton; and three great-grandsons, Eric and Neil Weigen of Sun Prairie and Adam Kohler of Appleton.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, James, Jr., and Charles; four brothers; and a sister.

      A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at 6 p.m. in the SPRING PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, N509 County Highway N, Keyeser, with the Reverend Rolf Olson officiating.
