      Derr, Arthur M.

      COLUMBUS - Arthur M. Derr, age 96, died on Saturday, January 14, 1995 at the center. He was born on November 11, 1898 in the town of York, Dane County to Michael and Eva (Kraus) Derr.

      He was married to Mabel Hepp on September 30, 1925 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lost Lake.

      Mr. Derr attended UW-Madison, completing a Farm Short Course in 1916; was town of Columbus Assessor; 4-H Leader; member of the Senior Club, Knights of Columbus, and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus.

      Survivors include his wife, Mabel of Columbus; five daughters, Marjorie Hughes (Orvil) Henriksen of Beaver Dam, Norene (James) Norman of Chicago, Illinois, MaryAnn (Donald) Severson and Evelyn (Robert) McNulty both of Columbus, Marlene (Ron) Widdel of Los Angeles, California; one son, Donald (Mary) Derr of Columbus; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin (Mary) Derr of Marshall; other relatives.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Derr and Olive Damm; a brother, Cyril Derr; a great-grandson; a son-in- law, Thomas Hughes.

      A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 1995 at 11:30 a.m. at ST. JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Columbus. Rev. William Hower will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery in Columbus. Friends may call at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home in Columbus from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday where a scripture service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
