    • Obituary:
      MRS. WILLIAM F. RENK

Mrs. William F. Renk passed away at a Madison hospital last Tuesday, Feb. 1, 1927. She had not yet reached her 45th birthday.

Her passing came as the final shock to loved ones and friends, who have realized ever since the inception of her long illness, that it could not be otherwise. Nothing daunted, however, every effort known to medical science was made in the faint hope of restoration of health. She was a patient sufferer throughout her illness, and bore her affliction with Christian fortitude.

Caroline M. Derr was born in the town of Columbus, Columbia county, Wisconsin, on April 11th, 1882. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Derr. Her father died Dec. 5th, 1919, and her mother, Aug. 13, 1912.

She was educated in the parochial and public schools of East Bristol. On May 28, 1901 she was married to William F. Renk. This union was blest with four children, Walter, Wilbur, Robert and Marion.

Mrs. Renk was a member of the Woman's Catholic Order of Foresters, the Woman's Relief Corps, the King's Daughters, the St. Elizabeth's Aid Society, and the St. Ann's Society. Most of these societies attended the funeral in a body.

Her four children and her husband remain to mourn her loss. One brother, John T. Derr of Columbus, Wis., and six sisters, namely, Mrs. Val Seltzner, Sun Prairie; Mrs. Tillie Conrad, Madison; Mrs. Frank Straus, Sun Prairie; Mrs. Anna Hauser, Butte, Montana; Mrs. Frank Wedel and Mrs. August Kroll, of Columbus, also survive her.

A brother Frank, and a sister, Josephine, preceded her in death.

The funeral was held on Friday morning, Feb. 4th, at 10 o'clock, when solemn High Mass was read by Rev. Fr. Salentin assisted by Rev. Fr. Voelker and Rev. Fr. Skalitzky, recently ordained. The Requiem Mass was sung by the Sacred Hearts choir. Interment was made in the Sacred Hearts cemetery.

The Farmers & Merchant Bank, of which Mr. Renk is president, was closed during the services,

The pallbearers were; Rupert J. Batz, Frank Stegerwald, Jr., Fred W. Chase, George M. Oehrlein, Vince Suchomel and John Bennesh, Jr.
