      KIRBY, OLIVE FARMAN

      Olive Farman Kirby, 105, died on Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Castro Valley, Calif. She was born Oct. 3. 1900, the daughter of Flora and Clarence Eckert in the Town of Baraboo.

      She was a graduate of Sun Prairie High School and the Milwaukee State Teacher's College. She married Harry Farman in Stoughton. She taught kindergarten in Stoughton and Sun Prairie, for more than 20 years. She married Henry Kirby in Stoughton in 1978.

      She was active until her death playing the piano, cards twice a week, attending church weekly, doing the daily crossword puzzle and delivering programs at her P.E.O. chapter meeting.

      She is survived by a daughter, Donna Farman Stamm of San Leandro, Calif., and a son, J. Jay ( Donna) Farman of Scottsdale. Ariz.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a stepson. Jack Kirby, of Platteville: and two step daughters, Janice Smedal of Stoughton and Mary Lou Callin of Sun Prairie.

      A memorial service will be held on April 1 at the United Methodist Church in Castro Valley, Calif. Donations in Olive's name to the charity of one's choice may be made.
