- MADISON - William "Bill" D. Aide, age 58, of 1442 Wheeler Road, died at his home on Saturday, July 22, 1989, following a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on November 23, 1930, in Mineral Point. He had been a Madison resident for the past 30 years. He was employed by the Mendota Mental Health Institute for 25 years. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until 1954. M r. Aide was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Elks Club. He married the former Ann Root on January 22, 1955, in Ridgeway. In addition to his wife, Ann, survivors include: a daughter, Jill (Timm) Bender of Madison; two grandchildren, Nicole and Lee Michael; a sister, Alice (James) Smith of Dodgeville; several nieces, nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph and Jennie Aide; two brothers, Edward and Francis; and a sister, Delli Flora. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 1989, at 10:00 am at ST. PETER 'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 North Sherman Avenue. Father Lawrence Korback will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 North Sherman Avenue, on Monday, July 24, 1989, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Friends and relatives will be remembered for their loving care and concern for B ill during his illness. Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice Care, Inc. or the American Cancer Society.
