      Aicher Loren W. "Ike" Aicher of Somerset, WI, age 80, died after a battle with cancer, on March 8, 2003 in Tacoma, WA. He formerly resided in Somerset, WI. He was born on Dec. 10, 1922, in Barron, WI.

      He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Tilseth Aicher, formerly of Ridgeland, WI; and a sister, Marion Aicher Wheeler of Andrews, TX. Also Adopted son, Bill Aicher.

      Loren is survived by his sister, Pearl "Penny" Nolan (Paul); brother, Milo "Don" Aicher (Shirley) of Everett, WA. Loren was the son of Louis "Louie" Aicher and Hazel Ward Aicher, longtime residents of Barron, WI.

      He resided in the Twin Cities area in his building construction career as an employee of Borson Construction Company. He rose from a journeyman carpenter to the position of Senior Construction Superintendent. Loren, a veteran of WWII South Pacific Theater, Army Engineers Brigade and Shore Regiment. Loren was honorably discharged as a meritorious Sargent upon returning to the United States in 1945. Loren attended Barron Public Schools where he played quarterback for the Golden Bears football team, and as a forward on the basketball team.

      A celebration of his life will be held during a memorial service at Christ Lutheran Church in Somerset, WI on Saturday, June 21 at 2 PM. Burial Greenwood Cemetery near Ridgeland, WI.
